Modaig Authority Figures

Garwen, Father of Loiza and chosen PC

Broad. Thoughtful. Patient. He acts as unofficial Mayor of Modaig after the last Mayor passed away.
He's not overly worried about Loiza's absence, but she was supposed to help him with a gardening project when she returned.

Meredid, Mother of Loiza and chosen PC

Ruddy-cheeked. Knowing smile. Assertive. Expert hunter and trapper.
She thinks Loiza must've encountered serious trouble (or an unexpected and irresistible prize) to not be back by now. Meredid wants to go with the party, but she recently broke her leg on a hunt.

Old Nia, Town Herbalist

Ancient. Jangling clothes. Impassive and offensive, but wants the best for the town.
Nia knows Loiza's patterns and is uncharacteristically concerned with her absence.

Brioc Glynn, Town Blacksmith

Gruff and hairy. Jolly. Has a minor drinking problem.
He is waiting for Loiza to finish a set of workshop benches and tables, but is privately very worried about her missing.

Loggers

All the loggers from the camp know about the corruption and at least suspect that their operation was the cause.

Steffan Wogan, Woods Scout

Small but strong. Sharp. Sarcastic. Driven to advance the logging operation.
He is in love with Morwenna. He is dying from his puncture wound and knows it.
Seffan's left side from waist up (including neck and head) is stained purple with corruption.

Morwenna Prosser, Logging Camp Boss

Tall and confident. Tough. Calculating. Soft-spoken. A strong leader and the founder of the lumber camp. Older sister to Owen.
She is determined to maintain the lumber camp operation at the cost of anything except the lives of her workers, who she would fight to the death for. She knows how to use a soldier's gear (spear, shield, sling, armor) and always has at least half of what she needs nearby.
Morwenna's hands, forearms, lower legs, and feet are stained purple with corruption.

Owen Prosser, Logger

Tall but uncertain. Prejudiced. Charming and likable. No filter. Younger brother to Morwenna.
He supports Morwenna and the lumber camp in principle, but has serious apprehensions about the danger of the logging profession and the recent appearance of corruption. He is looked to for support by fellow loggers and has a big sway on camp opinion & morale. Heavy war bow and horsemanship expert.
Owen is uncorrupted.

What's Obvious

• Normal-looking animal or human, except a cloudlike purple stain that covers fur or skin, and all-white eyes.
• Dark ooze seeps from its pores.
• Movement is sharp, erratic. Looks and listens towards random places.
• Faster and stronger than this creature should be.
• The animal or human's mouth is used poorly to speak in a strange language.
• Asks unanswerable questions. After no answer, it will attack, grab, or ram nearby creatures, trying to spread ooze.

What's Obscured

Elves, fae, goblins, and very old humans know Obscured aspects:

• Creature is a dark fae Skin Dancer.
• Possesses living creatures, will jump to a new host which kills the old host.
• Doesn't feel pain, except when touched by iron.
• Will sacrifice its host body to spread corruption. (To make a target into a possessed new host, more than half of the target's body must be covered by the purple stain.)
• Speaks in ancient faen.

What's Secret

• Outside of a host, form is made of solid shadowy spirit.
• Finds changing hosts very pleasurable.
• Retreats in self preservation if it can't get a new host.
• Will always abandon a host (into shadow form) if that body is immobilized.
• Hates being exposed in shadow form, which can still be hurt by iron.

Forgotten Stone Golem

Found in the Ruins.

What's Obvious

• Made of large loose floating rocks.
• Solid and can't be hurt easily.
• Massive limbs could easily break human bones.
• Covered in dirt and moss. Has not moved in some time.
• Voice grinds like a millstone.

What's Obscured

• Will freely share his name when asked: Corazón.
• Will slowly share he was created to serve his master, and protect his master's home (the Ruins).
• Waiting for his master. Doesn't understand that his master is long gone.
  "Master returns soon."
• He is sunk several feet into the soft forest floor, and would have trouble getting out quickly.
• Slightly slower than a fit human.

What's Secret

• A magic blue gem sits in the center of one of Corazón's body stones. It keeps him animated.
• Will always be animated until the blue gem is destroyed.
• Not violent in nature, but will forcefully grab any creature that knocks over ruins or damages plant life.
• Will try to remove creatures from the area if they linger for more than a few minutes.
